On Thursday, March 5th, 2010, during the Seventh Episcopal District’s Mid-Year Convocation which was held in Florence, South Carolina, Rev. Dr. Caesar R. Richburg formally announced his candidacy for Episcopal service.   Flanked at the podium by faithful church members and family who stood on stage beside him as he addressed the clergy and laity of the Seventh District, Dr. Richburg stated, “It is a calling on my life to serve as a Bishop in the African Methodist Episcopal Church. During the past thirty years as a pastor/servant, I have served the A.M.E. Church faithfully and I would now like for the Seventh Episcopal District and our global church to know that I am seeking to serve God’s people at the highest level of the Church.”
